На Солнце зафиксировали сильную вспышку класса M6.4

The flare lasted 19 minutes and led to radio communication disruptions

Scientists recorded a strong solar flare of high class M6.4 on Tuesday, December 10. This is reported by the Heliogeophysical Service "IPG".

The flare was registered in the X-ray range at 09:48 Moscow time and lasted 19 minutes. This solar phenomenon led to a disruption of HF radio communications.

Solar flares are classified according to the power of X-ray radiation into five classes: A, B, C, M, and X. Each subsequent letter corresponds to a 10-fold increase in radiation power.

Flares of class M, such as M6.4, are strong and can cause noticeable phenomena on Earth, such as magnetic storms, if solar plasma emissions reach our planet. These storms can affect satellite systems and communications, as well as radio communications.
