Russian specialists are working on creating the BRCH-1 android robot, which may be used for military purposes in the future. The first tests are scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
Currently, specialists from NPP Geran are working on creating a self-propelled android robot that will look like a human in terms of form factor, but will surpass it in strength, speed, and environmental analysis. In the near future, such a robot will be able to be on the front lines and replace a soldier.
Zhukov emphasized that in the future, android robots will be able to completely replace military personnel in the combat zone. According to him, before using the robot, many more tests will have to be carried out. In order for the android to be able to take weapons into its manipulators and use them, it must go through a long testing process.
In the meantime, the developers added, the robot will be busy performing other tasks, such as transporting goods or assisting in the evacuation of victims, which will help improve its characteristics. Android tests are scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
Earlier, the authors of The Guardian reported that the production capacity of Russian enterprises involved in the production of Geran unmanned aerial vehicles allows them to supply more than a hundred drones to the front every day. Russian engineers intend to equip UAVs with artificial intelligence to use drone swarm tactics.
