These towers extend the line of sight of the multispectral optoelectronic module 10ES1, as well as the radiation patterns of the 1RS2 "Shlem" guidance radar and the RLM SOTS detection radar above forest massifs to a height of 15 - 20 m.
The radar provides tracking and interception of kamikaze UAVs with low-altitude flight profiles, and also increases the radio horizon range of their detection.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev believes that such structures should be erected in sufficient quantities near strategically important airbases of the Russian Aerospace Forces, military depots, and oil refineries.
