The Russian Dragunov sniper rifle (SVD) has been included in the list of the best weapons of this class. In total, the American publication 19FortyFive included five rifles in the list.
Journalists noted that this "favorite rifle of Russian snipers" resembles the AK family of weapons in appearance, but the SVD has many differences.
The Dragunov was developed as a link between a standard infantry rifle and a real sniper system. The SVD is a specialized infantry rifle.
The list also includes Barrett Mk.22 MRAD (multi-role adaptive design), McMillan TAC-50, Accuracy International AXSR and Barrett M82A1 rifles.
