In February 2025, the production of UAZ vehicles will begin in Cuba. Currently, Cuban specialists are completing the preparation of the production line.
The first batch of assembly equipment has already been delivered to the workshop. It is planned to install it in January, as well as receive the first vehicle kits for assembly. The start of production is scheduled for February next year after checking and setting up the equipment.
The first orders for cars assembled in Cuba have already been placed. According to preliminary data, it is planned to organize the production of "Patriot" and "Pickup" models from Russian vehicle kits in Latin America.
This will be the first modern enterprise for the assembly of domestic cars, located almost on the border with the United States. The distance from Havana to Miami is only 365 kilometers.
Earlier,16 new UAZ "Patriot" SUVs were brought to Cuba. The island nation received another batch of these cars for the administrations of its provinces. These cars will help restore the infrastructure of the Island of Freedom after the recent hurricanes.
It also became known that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant ispreparing to release updated versions of the UAZ "Pickup", "Patriot" and "Polutorka" models.
