Smartphone sales in Russia by the end of 2024 may decrease compared to last year's figures. This is due to increased demand and an increase in the key rate.
Leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, Eldar Murtazin, predicts that in 2024, smartphone sales will amount to about 29 million units, which is 10.8% less than in 2023, when 32.5 million devices were sold. In an optimistic scenario, in 2025 this figure may be 28-29 million smartphones.
Business analyst at Marvel Distribution, Artur Makhlayuk, also expects a decrease in sales by 1.5-2%. According to his data, 27 million smartphones were sold in 11 months of 2023, which is 1.2% less than in the same period last year. The market volume amounted to 651 billion rubles, which is 9.4% more than a year earlier.
Despite general trends, MTS and M.Video-Eldorado claim that sales remained at 27.1 million devices, showing no significant changes. At the same time, online smartphone sales on Ozon and Wildberries showed growth: the former recorded a 25 percent increase in 10 months, the latter a 40 percent increase in 11 months.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian ministers and civil servants arebanned from using expensive smartphones and laptops.
