The second Be-200 amphibious aircraft (flying boat) produced by the "Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after G.M. Beriev" (TANTK) flew to Algeria. This was reported by the administration of the Rostov region.
Russia and Algeria signed a contract for the supply of 4 Be-200 aircraft in 2021. The value of the agreement amounted to 5.7 billion rubles.
The first Be-200 aircraft for Algeria was ready in December 2022. Its first flight took place in February 2023. A few months later, the aircraft was handed over to the customer.

The Be-200 is the world's only jet amphibious aircraft with the highest water discharge performance per hour. It is used to fight forest fires, search and rescue operations and cargo transportation.
