At the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), a new theoretical approach has been developed for calculating the interaction of magnetic nanoparticles and microparticles with ultra-high frequency alternating fields. The results of the work may lead to the creation of a new generation of storage devices, tomographs and sensors. This was reported by the press service of the university.
We actually looked inside the spin processes that happen faster than the blink of an eye. It's like discovering a new Universe hidden inside a tiny magnetic particle.
Scientists have developed a mathematical model based on the modified Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. It allows you to accurately calculate the interaction of ferromagnetic nanoparticles with ultra-high frequency alternating fields.
The new approach allowed us to study in detail the behavior of the magnetization of a ferromagnetic nanoparticle and decompose its oscillations into harmonic components. As a result, previously unknown features of the reaction of magnetic nanostructures to rapid changes in external magnetic fields were revealed.
The scientists also noted that the influence of previous states of magnetic nanoparticles on their properties may vary depending on small changes in experimental conditions. These features must be taken into account in the further study of magnetic materials and the development of new devices based on them.
