In June 2025, the nuclear-powered strategic missile submarine "Knyaz Pozharsky" of Project 955A (code "Borei-A") will be transferred to the Russian Navy. It was built at the "Sevmash" plant of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
It is planned that the solemn ceremony of transferring the "Knyaz Pozharsky" to the Russian Navy will take place in June 2025.
The missile carrier was rolled out of the "Sevmash" boathouse on February 3, 2024. It is currently undergoing state tests.
The APRKSN "Knyaz Pozharsky" is the eighth in the series of "Borei/Borei-A" nuclear submarines, and it will serve as part of the Northern Fleet. Each of the ships in this series carries 16 intercontinental ballistic missiles "Bulava" with multiple independently targetable warheads.
