A new cable car across the Oka River will appear in Nizhny Novgorod, which will consist of three stations. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025 and be completed in a year and a half.
Two cable car stations will be located in the lower part of the city — the Zarechnaya station, next to the metro station of the same name. Also on the banks of the Oka River in the residential area of the River Park microdistrict. The third station will be located in the upland part, in the Okeanis area, Switzerland Park.
The length of the cable car will exceed three kilometers. There will be 60 cabins in operation, each designed for eight people. The journey time will take no more than 15 minutes.
It is assumed that the cable car will carry about 10 thousand passengers per day. At the same time, its maximum capacity will be more than 30 thousand people.
Earlier, the Elbrus resort, located in Kabardino-Balkaria, began to use the first domestic spare parts for its cable cars. Prior to this, such parts were imported from abroad, but now they are produced at the Ruslet Moscow plant.
