The opening of a new Russian automotive plant "Sollers Comtrans" took place in Ulyanovsk, according to the region's governor, Alexei Russkikh. The company was launched on the territory of the UAZ industrial park. As previously reported, serial production of medium-duty Sollers trucks of the TR series has begun there.
The company will produce 5,000 vehicles per year. Currently, the plant employs more than a hundred people. It is assumed that the new line of vehicles to be produced at the plant will fill the niche created after the departure of Isuzu due to sanctions.
The Sollers range of trucks, the production of which has already been launched, includes five models: TR35, TR50, TR80, TR120, and TR180. All these vehicles are covered by a warranty of 4 years or 250,000 kilometers.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC "Sollers," Adil Shirinov, noted that the opening of the "Sollers Comtrans" enterprise is part of the UAZ modernization strategy. According to him, the potential of the new enterprise is enormous. The company plans to implement at least four projects.
