The American Patriot PAC-3MSE anti-aircraft missile system is unable to withstand the MIM-104F PAC-3MSE anti-missiles of the latest Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile due to the speed limit of the targets it can engage. This was explained by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the AN/MPQ-65A multi-functional radar has a speed limit for tracked and detected targets of 2200 m/s.
The standard speed of the Oreshnik warheads in the terminal sections of trajectories varies from 3000 to 4000 m/s.
The analyst emphasized that only domestic S-300V4, S-400, and S-500 SAM systems have the ability to counter the Oreshnik warheads in the endoatmospheric section, but only in the case of timely target designation from radars such as 91N6. At the same time, even they will be able to intercept them with a probability of about 15 - 25%.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the main vulnerability of American ATACMS missiles to Russian air defense has been revealed.
