We continue to expect the start of mass equipping of these machines, as well as other "units" of the Russian Armed Forces, modernized in terms of increasing the elevation sector of the guidance radar scanning and increasing the elevation angle of the mortars of the "Arena-M" active protection systems. As you know, these systems will also be able to counter the M712 "Copperhead" UAS.
The analyst added that the tanks are beginning to be equipped with an improved set of anti-cumulative and anti-drone protection, which has both standard flexible mesh screens of the надбашенного space and a "visor" of the upper hemisphere of the turret, as well as rubber-fabric flaps located on the lower edges of the side armor plates of the turret.
The "Arena-M" tank active protection system consists of protective ammunition hidden in special shafts and a radar station that monitors the situation around the tank. In the event of an attack, the radar almost instantly determines the trajectory of the threat and fires a protective ammunition towards it, which neutralizes it.
