New Telegram Scam: APK Files Can Install a Virus on Your Device

Experts recommend using antiviruses to protect against the threat

A new scam related to APK files has appeared in Telegram.

Users receive messages from unknown contacts asking: "Is this you in the photo?", but the image itself is not displayed, and the file looks like an archive (with the APK extension).

When downloading such a file to a device, users not only do not see the photo, but also accidentally install malicious software (malware) on their devices, which can give scammers access to personal information, including login details for online banks and other applications.

This scam method covers a wide audience of different ages. Experts recommend installing antivirus programs to protect devices. Such programs can block malware and prevent personal data leaks.
