«Kalashnikov» presented the latest portable ultrasound device at the international scientific and practical forum "Gunshot Wound. Injury Surgery." It is protected from dust and moisture, is shockproof and does not need wires. Specialists of the concern say that the development is suitable for use in front-line conditions, and in the near future they will send a number of such devices to the Russian military for testing and trial operation.
The concern's portable ultrasound device has already been exhibited at "Warrior Expo 2024" among the new products, but its detailed characteristics were not disclosed. Now, however, «Kalashnikov» has revealed its secrets related to new equipment for field medical care.
Portable ultrasound devices weigh only 400 grams and will be able to quickly assess the condition of the wounded in order to provide the necessary assistance as quickly as possible. They:
- guarantee the implementation of all examination protocols used in civilian ambulance services in the field;
- have three sensors: convex, linear and phased array. This makes it possible to determine the presence of fluid in the lungs or abdominal cavity of the wounded, provide intravenous access, and effectively perform prolonged anesthesia (up to 6 hours) under ultrasound control without the use of narcotic analgesics and central analgesics (regional blockade).
- can operate on a single charge for up to 6 hours;
- are compatible with any mobile devices running on the Android operating system no lower than the seventh version.
In addition, unlike its counterparts, this portable ultrasound device has good image quality and is 30-50% cheaper.
