Will replenish the budget by 2.7 trillion rubles: expert assessed the economic efficiency of the HSR "Moscow-St. Petersburg"

The project will also increase labor productivity by 5%

The construction of the high-speed railway (HSR-1) Moscow — St. Petersburg will increase the budget by 2.7 trillion rubles. This was announced by Vladimir Kosoy, President of the Center for Infrastructure Economics, at the "Transport of Russia" exhibition.

Such an increase is expected in the first 20 years of using HSR-1.

Dry calculations within the framework of this methodology show that this is one of the most effective infrastructure projects in general, out of everything that is on the table today.
Vladimir Kosoy, President of the Center for Infrastructure Economics

The total GDP growth will reach 10.5 trillion rubles. It was also noted that HSR-1 will increase labor productivity by 5%.

Since HSR allows you to connect points that are hundreds of kilometers away from each other, this connection gives an agglomeration effect, which leads to an increase in labor productivity.
Vladimir Kosoy, President of the Center for Infrastructure Economics

It is worth noting that the railway line between Moscow and St. Petersburg will be launched on April 1, 2028.
