In November, Rospatent registered an application for a system combining a mechanical arm with a robotic hand and a method for controlling the movements of the robot arm. According to RB.RU, the application was submitted by 11 authors from the Beijing Institute of Precision Mechatronics and Control.
The mechanical arm with four degrees of freedom of movement is combined with the hand using a robotic wrist and an electrical circuit. The arm itself is equipped with active and driven servo controllers, motors, and pushers.
The wrist of the robotic hand is a parallel mechanism with two degrees of freedom. It has two motors, two pushers, and two position servo controllers. If the two pushers move in the same direction, the hand performs movement along the horizontal axis, and the tilt angle range is from -70 to 70 degrees. If the pushers move in opposite directions, the hand rotates along the vertical axis, and the rotation angle range is from -45 to 45 degrees. The coordinate system of the mechanical arm is established using the Denavit-Hartenberg method.
It is not yet clear whether the patent will hinder similar Russian robotic solutions.
