They will deliver goods between logistics terminals in Moscow and St. Petersburg

The leasing company "KamAZ" has transferred six out of twelve unmanned trucks of the KAMAZ-54901 model to JSC "National Carrier". These vehicles will be used to transport goods between logistics terminals in Moscow and St. Petersburg along the M-11 highway as part of the federal project "Unmanned Logistics Corridors".

The trucks are equipped with a six-cylinder KAMAZ 910.10-550 engine with a working volume of 12 liters. As additional functions, the cars are equipped with communication, navigation, technical vision and information processing systems.

This project is part of the strategic plans of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. Its goal is to prepare the transport industry for the transition to a digital future.

By 2030, it is planned to introduce unmanned technologies on 19.5 thousand kilometers of federal highways. Currently, a driver must be in the cab of the truck to monitor the operation of the autopilot.

As a reminder, KamAZ is actively working on increasing the number of unmanned trucks on the M-12 and M-4 highways. Since last year, unmanned trucks have been successfully transporting goods along the M-11 highway, and this year their number will reach 18 units. Unmanned trucks will appear on the M-12 highway and the Central Ring Road in 2026.

Earlier, at the "Digital Transportation-2024" forum, unmanned trucks were launched along the entire length of the M-11 highway.
