The humanoid robot "Yegorka," created to assist neuropsychologists and defectologists, has passed successful tests. It was created by a graduate of Kamchatka State University.
The device should become an intermediary between children and doctors. It will be used when working with patients with mental disorders. The fact is that such children often withdraw into themselves. The robot is perceived by them as a trustworthy and safe partner. After interacting with it, children's concentration increases. Its testing was carried out in a children's neuro-speech therapy center.
The anthropomorphic robot can move its arms and head. Using a touch screen, it demonstrates its facial expressions, and can also show videos and images. Children interact with it for about 15 minutes during a session.
"Yegorka" was created by Dmitry Raevsky, a graduate of Kamchatka State University. The robot's software is registered with Rospatent.
It is planned that the device will receive safety certificates. In addition to correctional centers, it can be used in polyclinics and kindergartens. The cost of the device is cheaper than foreign counterparts.
