Currently, the placement of Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile-gun systems and Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems on low-altitude interception towers has become particularly relevant. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He noted that in one case, a drone approached an enterprise at a low altitude, taking into account urban development — about 35 - 45 m. Damantsev did not rule out that this may have prevented the Tor-M2 SAM systems located near the city on the ground from intercepting the object.
The range of enemy strike drones has already reached 2000 km, Tor-M2/KM and Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile systems should be placed on rapidly erected 25-35-meter truss towers, especially near strategically important sites.
