The system's fire performance can be increased to 12 targets not in 1 minute, but in 30 seconds

The modernization of the Russian anti-aircraft missile and gun system "Pantsir-SM" within the framework of the signed memorandum of cooperation between Rosoboronexport and the Indian Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) may affect a number of system components.

Military expert Evgeny Damantsev suggested that the only vector of development of the system may be the development of another type of guided anti-aircraft missiles for the Pantsir.

Currently, the system is capable of destroying targets with an effective reflecting surface of 0.01 m² at a distance of 17-20 km thanks to the 57E6M SAM.

In the case of the development of advanced SAM interceptors with an active radar homing head of the J/Ka-band, the Pantsir will be able to quickly free up target channels as the intercepted targets are captured by active radar seekers of already launched SAMs.

Thus, the fire performance of the fire control system can be increased to 12 targets not in 1 minute, but in 30 seconds. Secondly, it will become possible to intercept targets beyond the radio horizon, or radio visibility according to target designation from third-party S/X-band radars.

In addition, the ability to intercept tactical missiles and kamikaze drones diving at the SAM combat vehicle at angles of 87-90° will improve.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the frigate "Admiral Golovko" with "Zircons" worked out combat operations in the English Channel.
