The Russian Aerospace Forces' anti-aircraft missile brigade includes short-range military air defense systems "Tor-M2" and "Tor-M2U". Unlike the modernized "Tor-M2", the complex with the letter "U" has a combat kit based on early 9M331/D anti-aircraft interceptor missiles, said military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He noted that these anti-aircraft missiles are distinguished by a load-bearing body with sections of tail aerodynamic rudders and stabilizers with overloads of up to 23 units, a maximum speed of up to 1000 m/s, a simplified radar fuse, a range of 12 km and an altitude range of intercepted targets from 10 to 10000 m.
9M331D missiles are capable of intercepting JDAM-ER gliding bombs at a distance of up to 8 km, 227-mm GMLRS missiles - at a distance of 5 km and GLSDB gliding bombs - 4 - 3 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that an effective way to protect against FPV drones on fiber optics has been found: the Pantsir and Strela air defense systems will leave no chance for birds.
