JSC "Romanov" – as the site where MAN trucks used to be assembled is now called – plans to start producing trucks under the BAZ brand. These will be civilian trucks of a completely new design. The start is scheduled for mid-2025.
It was promised that all parts for the trucks would be manufactured at enterprises in Russia and Belarus. This will simplify the vehicle maintenance process.
In conceptual terms, this is an alternative to the heavy off-road Czech "Tatras" (Tatra).
The fundamentally new Russian car has a fully independent spring suspension. You can choose the number of axles and wheelbases. The rear axle is steerable. There is not a single part in the design made in China, with the exception of, perhaps, some electronic components.
Everything is ours, homespun, Russian-Belarusian.
A durable spar frame, a frame-panel cabin module, and independent axles were developed for the new family of trucks. The design is based on the YaMZ-653 engine, developed in Russia. The YaMZ-1909 mechanical gearbox and ZMT transfer case are also produced in our country.
For a long time, there was no information about this project, and there were even rumors that its development had been suspended.
Earlier www1.ru reported that KAMAZ showed its largest truck. Due to its size, it cannot travel on public roads. This dump truck is equipped with a diesel engine that develops 560 horsepower. It weighs 95 tons and has a platform volume of 41 cubic meters. This is the largest vehicle in the KAMAZ line, capable of carrying up to 65 tons of cargo.
