Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems should cover every naval base of the Russian Navy and forward airfields of the Russian Aerospace Forces at a distance of up to 2000 km from the line of combat contact. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the operational and strategic reality dictates new rules of the game. He noted that the Pantsir-S1 systems can easily intercept A-22 drones at a distance of 15-17 km.
Therefore, to cover naval bases, Pantsir-S1 SAM systems located at the highest points of their infrastructure should also be used.
