The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) military-industrial holding will manufacture cylinder liners with integrated cooling for the DN23/30 engine. This was reported in the holding's press service.
The liners are installed in the cylinder block of the 16DN23/30 diesel engine manufactured by the Berislav Engineering Plant. These engines are used to drive direct and alternating current generators on diesel locomotives and in marine installations.
According to project manager Nikita Kulikov, there are grooves under the inner surface of the jacket on the outer surface of the liner, through which the coolant circulates.
The reciprocating motion of the engine piston occurs along the inner surface of the liner under the influence of gas pressure generated after fuel combustion.
All products manufactured by KMZ for diesel engines are serial and can be supplied in large batches throughout Russia and the CIS countries.
