Fraudsters in Russia have learned to fake the residual battery capacity of electric vehicles. Unscrupulous sellers activate a device that works from a remote control fob at the time of the pre-sale inspection of the car. The client sees that the battery indicators are normal and buys the car. After that, the device is turned off, and the new owner is surprised to find that the parameters have decreased by half.
Previously, craftsmen "rolled back" the mileage on the odometer to sell the car more expensively. On an electric vehicle, the battery is the most expensive part and, at the same time, an indicator of the car's wear and tear.
Falsification of data on the residual battery charge has reached industrial scale: now more than one electric vehicle is equipped with deceptive devices that mislead buyers.
A similar trick can be done with the Nissan Leaf, reported the "Channel of the Union of Car Services", since on such cars information about the residual capacity of the traction battery is displayed both on the dashboard and in the "LEAF Spy" application.
Earlier, online sales of electric vehicles were launched in Russia. The first model to appear on Wildberries was the domestic "electric car" "Amberauto A5". To make a purchase, you must make a prepayment. As soon as the funds are credited to the dealer's account, a salon manager will contact the buyer to draw up the documents.
As a reminder, the government predicted that by the end of 2025, the share of electric vehicles in Russia would reach 5% – 100 thousand cars.
