Russia conducted strategic deterrence force exercises, launching Yars, Sineva, and Bulava ballistic missiles. The launches were carried out with a difference of several hours, and they demonstrated the country's strategic capabilities, according to Bulgarian Military.
The Yars missile was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. The Sineva missile was launched from a Delta IV class submarine in the Barents Sea. Simultaneously, a Bulava missile was launched from a Borei class submarine in the Sea of Okhotsk.
According to Bulgarian Military, the Yars is equipped with a multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRV) system. The missile, with a range of up to 12,000 km, can carry up to four nuclear warheads. Its mobile launch platform increases maneuverability and makes it difficult for enemy air defenses to detect.
The Yars can reach almost any point in the world. The Sineva missile can carry up to 10 nuclear warheads. The Sineva is capable of hitting global targets, as its range is almost 11,500 km.
The Bulava missile is designed for Borei class submarines. It can carry up to 10 nuclear warheads. The missile's engine runs on solid fuel. The range of the Bulava is up to 8,000 km.
