According to Bulgarian Military, Algeria bought the Iskander OTRK from Russia several years ago. The republic's authorities chose this complex for its accuracy and firing range (up to 500 km). However, the export version (Iskander-E) has a firing range of only 280 km.

The accuracy of the Iskander-E (deviation up to 5-7 m) is also one of its advantages. This level of accuracy is achieved through advanced inertial guidance systems, as well as the GLONASS satellite navigation system.

Iskander-E has electronic jamming suppression functions, which is important in the context of the enemy's use of powerful electronic warfare systems.
