Russian tank units on the front lines should use specialized heat-absorbing "casings" that reduce the infrared signature of military equipment. This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, modern thermal imaging modules of gunner's sights and panoramic sights of MBT M1A2 SEP/v1/2/3 are capable of detecting such heat-contrast elements at a distance of up to 4500 - 5000 m.
It is for this reason that the guns of all concepts of advanced tanks are clad in specialized heat-absorbing "casings" that reduce the IR signature to a minimum.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation explained the principle of operation of the UR-77 Meteorite mine clearance vehicle. At the same time, the military began to use it to strike at enemy positions.
