Fuel assemblies for the BRR-1 research reactor under construction in Bolivia have been created at the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (part of Rosatom State Corporation). This was reported by the state corporation's press service.
Bolivia is the first South American country in the geography of Russian nuclear fuel supplies. The Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant has been producing nuclear fuel and its components for research reactors in various regions of the world for 50 years, including installations of both Russian and foreign design.
Deliveries are scheduled for next year.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that American fuel was loaded into the Finnish Loviisa NPP with Soviet reactors for the first time.
