The head of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has changed his car. Now he drives an Aurus Senat. At the meeting of BRICS leaders, the president exclusively used the elongated Russian sedan, which was specially delivered from the republic.
At the same time, most other summit participants traveled in armored vehicles provided by the Special Purpose Garage of the Russian Federation.
Tokayev's limousine differed from the cars in the Federal Protective Service's fleet: no special communication antennas or strobe lights near the front number. In addition, the sedan of the head of Kazakhstan has original wheels, which have recently been used on the Aurus Senat.
The license plates belong to the state bodies of the neighboring country — the State Security Service of Kazakhstan.
Previously, Tokayev used a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class armored car for official purposes. It was also delivered to Kazan, but remained in reserve.
Aurus Senat is a representative-class car produced in Russia. It is produced at two plants: FSUE "NAMI" in Moscow and "Sollers-Yelabuga" in the city of Yelabuga, Republic of Tatarstan. The Aurus Senat is equipped with a hybrid power plant with a 4.4-liter V8 gasoline turbo engine. The car features a high level of comfort and protection class.
Earlier it became known that the premium Aurus cars will be updated in 2026 and 2030. Aurus cars are developed by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. President Vladimir Putin drives them, as well as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. In addition, the Aurus line of cars were transferred to the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and the speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.
