Крупнейшую в России солнечную электростанцию построят в Дагестане

Its Capacity Will Be 100 MW

The construction of a large-scale facility, a solar power plant, has started in Dagestan. This is the largest project in the field of solar energy in Russia. The plant will be located 10 kilometers from Derbent, in the village of Avadan. Its capacity will be 100 megawatts.

It is assumed that the new solar power plant will produce 140 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

The investor of the project is the company "New Energy", which plans to invest more than 7 billion rubles in it. Construction work is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Already from January 1, 2026, the electricity produced at this facility will begin to enter the wholesale market.

A solar power plant (SPP) is an engineering device that converts solar energy into electricity. The principle of operation of a solar power plant is based on the photovoltaic effect. During solar activity, batteries are charged.

Earlier, the first solar power plant in Russia with a solar tracking system was launched in Chechnya. The station's productivity is 9.2 megawatts. Thanks to the use of modules that track the movement of the sun and adjust to it, the station produces 20–25% more energy.
