MiG-41 is a sixth-generation interceptor fighter project being developed in Russia as part of the PAK DP (prospective long-range aviation complex) program. The National Interest writes that the aircraft will have "truly insane capabilities". The Western press is skeptical about this development.
Presumably, the MiG-41 will be able to exceed speeds of more than Mach 4. Russian designers also want to equip the aircraft with an anti-missile laser. We are talking about the first of its kind directed electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon.
This weapon is non-kinetic and targets the electronics of an enemy aircraft, turning it into a falling brick, writes The National Interest. The publication's journalists also doubt that the first flight of the MiG-41 will take place in 2025, as promised by the developers.
