The Central Bank of Russia plans to conduct the first international payments in digital currency before the end of this year, according to the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina.
There is interest from participants, but since this experimental legal regime concerns international settlements, we consider it closed and do not disclose information on participants or the number of transactions.
It is worth noting that the digital ruble will be introduced in Russia from July 1, 2025. Currently, the country's banks are busy preparing the infrastructure for conducting operations.
