"Sevmash" specialists (part of USC) have started manufacturing thrust bearings for two universal nuclear icebreakers, "Leningrad" and "Stalingrad" (Project 22220), which are being built at the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg. A total of six bearings will be manufactured, the corporation's press service reported.
More than 20 workshops and divisions of the enterprise are involved in the project. The first set of products is scheduled to be delivered to the Baltic Shipyard in 2025, the second in 2026.
The icebreaker bearing project was developed at the "Sevmash" Design Bureau according to the customer's technical specifications. The height of the product is 2.5 m, and the estimated weight is 25 tons.
The company is a leader in the manufacture of Russian marine bearings. Currently, "Sevmash" is working on 30 similar contracts.
Previously, a set of thrust bearings was produced here for the icebreaker "Chukotka". The first two bearings have already been sent to St. Petersburg, and the third is being prepared for shipment.
