It saves up to 50% of material and time and is suitable for any product

Ulyanovsk aircraft manufacturers have begun to apply a new metal cutting technology for the manufacture of blanks for future aircraft parts. According to the UAC press service, group cutting using a technological cutting map (TCM) reduces the time to complete work and saves metal. In some positions, the savings amount to 50%.

The new method is standard, that is, it can be used for any product. At the same time, cutting can be carried out in a "package" - processing several sheets at the same time. The technology is planned to be implemented on all products. This will provide the manufacturing workshops with a reserve of parts blanks for several aircraft sets.
Dmitry Zakharov, Head of the Blank Cutting Workshop of PJSC Il - Aviastar

The TCM is based on the arrangement of contour blanks of parts on a sheet, which is formed by specialized software. It allows you to produce and set on the monitor the layout of parts of different configurations with maximum use of the metal sheet. Waste during this cutting is minimal.
