Вице-премьеру Савельеву показали летающую лабораторию на базе Як-40

Government delegation inspected light-class aircraft at SibNIA

Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev, along with members of the government delegation, visited the S. A. Chaplygin Siberian Research Institute of Aviation (SibNIA) in Novosibirsk.

Savelyev familiarized himself with the current developments of SibNIA and also visited the departments of aircraft aerodynamics and static strength of aircraft structures. He was shown experimental and modified light-class aircraft, a flying laboratory based on the Yak-40 aircraft.

These will be in-demand models, especially for the regions of the Far East, where aircraft will be able to land on runways with a length of 200-500 meters.
Vitaly Savelyev, Deputy Prime Minister

The government representative highly appreciated the developments of the research institute, noting that they will help save budgetary funds.
