Russia has begun mass production of the "Dandelion" unmanned aerial vehicle. It is designed to protect strategic facilities, according to Ruslan Lyapin, Deputy General Director for Development at Atri.
The UAV, made according to a coaxial rotor scheme, is capable of carrying from 1 to 3.2 kg of cargo at a maximum horizontal flight speed of 100 km/h. According to the developer, the drone can be used at wind speeds up to 18 m/s.
The UAV is launched from the hand, a transport and launch installation, or ground or sea transport. In addition, the "Ampel" transport and launch complex (TPK) has been created for the "Dandelion", allowing the UAV to be used to monitor the situation along a selected linear perimeter of the area.
Military expert Dmitry Kornev noted that the new drone could become the basis for a series of devices designed for placement on mobile platforms.
Earlier www1.ru wrote that Russian combat helicopters have turned into drone mothers for destroying kamikaze boats in the Black Sea. They have become carriers of copters, simplifying their launch and significantly increasing the range of combat use.
