Первые в мире: «ГЛОНАСС» создаст систему предотвращения ДТП

Today, the system is connected to 11 million cars across Russia

In 2015, Russia was the first in the world to introduce the ERA-GLONASS emergency warning system on transport. Currently, more than 11 million cars across the country are connected to it. Now the company is moving from notification to accident prevention, said Alexey Raikevich, General Director of JSC GLONASS, at the "Digital Transportation-2024" forum.

Our cars have an SOS button - it is a smart device that, in the event of an accident, automatically, when the driver and passengers are unable to call rescue services, medics, makes a call and transmits the coordinates. This, in turn, saves about 50% of the time it takes for [emergency services] to arrive at the scene of the accident and provide medical assistance.
Alexey Raikevich, General Director of JSC GLONASS

According to statistics from disaster medicine, Raikevich noted, medical assistance provided within the first so-called "golden hour" after a serious accident makes it possible to increase the chances of saving people by more than five times. He explained that in this way, the emergency warning system, which currently has over 11,000,000 vehicles in our country, saves thousands of human lives every year.

This is an example of when digitalization technologies in the transport industry really serve our society, increasing safety on the roads.
Alexey Raikevich, General Director of JSC GLONASS

The head of the company emphasized that for nine years GLONASS has not stood still in its development and is developing its areas.

ERA-GLONASS functioned and functions as a system for notifying about the fact of an accident, and our task is to move from notification to prevention, warning of accidents. Technically, we know how to do this, and, in general, the system is already ready.
Alexey Raikevich, General Director of JSC GLONASS

Also, the head of GLONASS noted that one of the company's tasks is to replace foreign technologies with domestic ones, because the geolocation of some cars in Russia is tracked in real time by foreign operators.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Digital Transportation-2024" forum in Moscow presented new generation electric vehicles: the Zeekr 001 liftback and the Avatr 11 all-wheel drive crossover.
