Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub on Friday set a record for the longest stay on the International Space Station (ISS) during a single expedition. This was reported by Roscosmos.
At 16:06:51 Moscow time, the cosmonauts surpassed the achievement of their colleagues Dmitry Petelin, Sergei Prokopyev, and NASA astronaut Frank Rubio.
Kononenko and Chub arrived at the ISS in September 2023, and their return to Earth is scheduled for Monday, September 23. Thus, their expedition will last 374 days.
The longest space flight was completed by Russian cosmonaut Valery Polyakov. This record was set at the "Mir" station, where he stayed for 437 days, 17 hours, 58 minutes, and 17 seconds.
