Ships of the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy have entered the Kazakh port of Aktau on a friendly visit. Among them was the missile ship "Tatarstan".
The Russian delegation was met by the commander of the naval base of the Kazakh Navy, Baurzhan Muratuly, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reported.
"Tatarstan" is a patrol ship of Project 11661 (cipher "Gepard"). Ships of the series are built at the shipyard of JSC "Zelenodolsk Plant named after A. M. Gorky." It is designed to perform a range of tasks: searching for and combating surface, underwater and air targets, conducting convoy operations, carrying out patrol service, as well as protecting the marine economic zone. It is equipped with anti-ship, artillery, anti-submarine and anti-aircraft weapons.
The ship is armed with "Caliber-NK" and Kh-35 "Uran" complexes, the Osa-MA air defense system and the Igla-M MANPADS, RBU-6000 installations and 533-mm TA.
