The Chinese company Bieberg presented the FY-70 loitering munition on the Pakistani market, which is similar to the Kub strike drone developed by the Russian Kalashnikov concern. This is reported by Defence blog.
The FY-70 has a delta wing and is similar to the Kub in both appearance and functionality. Loitering munitions are used to engage stationary, lightly protected targets, and can also be equipped with optical devices for reconnaissance.
According to Defence blog, the drone hovers in the air, scans the area, and when a target is detected, it dives to strike. This tactic is effective for destroying armored vehicles, including tanks.
The main difference between the FY-70 and the Russian analogue is the engine. The Russian kamikaze drone is equipped with an electric motor, while the Chinese clone has an internal combustion engine.
Sources reported that Russian military personnel were interested in FY-70. They may purchase a version of the loitering munition called Harpy-A1.
