The device allows for the safe movement of structural parts of the main circulating pump unit

The Special Design Bureau-1 (SKB-1, part of the military-industrial holding "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant") has improved the device for assembling the main circulation pump unit (MCP), an integral part of the reactor installation of a nuclear power plant. This was reported by the company's press service.

The improved device allows for the vertical movement of the MCP rotor, as well as the installation and transportation of the MCP impeller to the design position.

It consists of a rail track, a frame and a lifting mechanism and is equipped with a mechanism for centering the impeller along two axes, stoppers to prevent spontaneous lowering of the table and a manual hydraulic pump with a pressure gauge, and rollers with stoppers are installed for smooth horizontal movement along the rail track.

It is worth noting that the safety of any nuclear power plant depends on the uninterrupted operation of the MCP.
