The military-industrial holding "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ) has received an order to repair 8NVD 26A-2 engines on a Northern Fleet tanker. Specialists will carry out the work under a state contract for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the holding's press service reported.
The press service explained that non-reversible engines of this type are used on river and sea vessels as main and auxiliary marine engines. Tankers are used to transport fuel, water, and food to warships.
According to Oleg Bakshinsky, head of the KMZ repair department, the holding is already carrying out the second repair of 8NVD 26A-2 engines for a tanker of this project.
