The draft procedure for maintaining a list of pages in social networks, the audience of which exceeds 10 thousand users, was published prematurely due to a technical error, Roskomnadzor said. The preparation of the document has not yet been completed. Earlier, the project was posted on the portal, but was soon removed.
In accordance with the new law signed by President Vladimir Putin, from November 1, 2024, owners of social media pages with an audience of more than 10 thousand people will have to provide information about themselves to Roskomnadzor. This also applies to owners of public channels in messengers. The procedure and composition of the transmitted data will be determined by the government.
Roskomnadzor will maintain a list of such pages. Owners whose data will not be included in this list will not be able to place advertising or funding offers on their resources. In addition, it will be forbidden to repost information from such channels.
