Russia does not plan to block Youtube. This was announced by Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.
The option of forcibly blocking YouTube video hosting in Russia is not being considered.
According to Anton Nemkin, the country's authorities are not involved in slowing down the video hosting service. This is a consequence of the degradation of cached equipment owned by Google.
It was noted that Youtube is only required to monitor the condition of the equipment, take care of the safety of its users and follow the legislative framework of the Russian Federation.
It is noteworthy that some Russian providers tried to speed up the platform. Roskomnadzor immediately imposed a ban on these actions.
