Russian combat aviation in the future may undergo a number of changes in approaches and concepts of application on the field. This point of view was expressed by military expert Sergei Marzhetsky.
According to him, the Aerospace Forces need a light tactical aircraft for long-range radar reconnaissance with a radar fixed above the fuselage in the form of a fixed ridge.
An air reconnaissance aircraft with the ability to control and issue data for targeting is needed on a truly massive scale, in dozens. It can be made on the basis of the civilian airliner Il-114-300, in a way mirroring the Swedish AWACS.
Marzhetsky added that the Aerospace Forces need to increase the range of gliding air bombs and other interspecific ammunition by equipping them with power plants or powder accelerators. He recalled that this will allow the Su-34 to operate from the greatest possible distances, saving aircraft and their pilots.
It also seems right to give the green light to the light tactical fifth-generation fighter Su-75. This single-engine budget aircraft was originally developed for foreign customers on an initiative basis. It is 80% unified with the heavy Su-57, but significantly cheaper than its older twin-engine brother in maintenance.
The expert suggested that the future of the Russian Aerospace Forces will be associated with long-range "bombers", light tactical AWACS aircraft, and single-engine fifth-generation fighters.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces used the rarest coastal missile system "Utes". The maximum launch range is up to 460 km.
