The US Department of the Treasury has expanded sanctions against Russia, including in the new list almost 400 individuals and legal entities, as well as organizations. The main goal of these restrictions, according to Washington, is to undermine supply chains and financial channels for the Russian military-industrial complex.
The list includes more than 100 individuals and legal entities from 16 countries, accused of helping to circumvent sanctions. Among them are representatives of China, Switzerland, Turkey and the UAE, including 18 Hong Kong companies associated with the Russian military-industrial complex.
Among the Russian organizations that fell under the sanctions were software developers for the financial sector, such as ATOL, Diasoft and the Center for Financial Technologies (CFT). The list also includes structures and plants of the Evraz holding, including the Raspadskaya and Yuzhkuzbassugol coal companies, the Nizhny Tagil and West Siberian metallurgical plants, as well as Evraz Market.
The United States imposed sanctions against the structures of Norilsk Nickel, such as the A.P. Zvenyagin Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, Nornickel Sphere, Nornickel Sputnik and Norilsknickelremont companies. The Norilsk Avia helicopter airline, which provides search and rescue flights, as well as the airlines of the Volga-Dnepr group, including the eponymous, Atran and AirBridgeCargo, were also included in the sanctions list.
Among other sanctioned organizations are MTS's cybersecurity subsidiary MTS Red, the Moscow Jewelry Factory, Mechel Information Technologies (the holding itself has been under US sanctions since February), as well as a number of companies and design bureaus, such as Vostok and Stratim, producing drones for the needs of a special operation.
The list also includes the Yakut Fuel and Energy Company, Novatek China, Sibmining, Mezhregiongazstroy, Sila Yakutia LLC, Vostokgeologiya, Mechel Mining, Korshunovsky GOK, Yuzhny Kuzbass Coal Company, A.P. Zvenyagin Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, NN Technical Services, Norilskremont, Tsifra Group, Progress Rocket and Space Center, Kronstadt JSC, the 4th, 27th and 48th Central Research Institutes of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the special design bureau of the ministry.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the list included the company "Center for Financial Technologies" (CFT), known for developing the Zolotaya Korona payment system.
