This year, a ban on the use of mobile phones in schools will come into effect. This was announced by Yana Lantratova, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education.
The restrictions will take effect from the beginning of the school year. Phones will be prohibited even for educational purposes.
The teacher can use an interactive whiteboard, computer, tablet, or all-in-one device. If it is necessary to show children some video materials or conduct a test.
According to Yana Lantratova, both parents and teachers opposed the use of phones. Their use in lessons distracts from the learning process.
It was also noted that Russia is not the first country to introduce such a ban. From September 1 of this year, schoolchildren will be allowed to use phones only in case of a threat to life and in other emergency situations.
