The Volgabus Volzhsky plant has begun implementing a program to import substitution in its buses. This was announced at the plant during a visit by the Governor of the Volgograd Region, Andrei Bocharov, and the Minister of Transport of Russia, Roman Starovoit.
The company noted that Volgabus Volzhsky will conduct the first tests of buses with Russian suspension elements and engines at the end of 2024. In the future, the plant also hopes for a braking system and a domestic gearbox.
The total volume of import-substituted products has already exceeded 50% of the entire range of parts and materials. Plastic, metal, glass, gas cylinders, soft flooring and fuel tanks, batteries, electrical equipment and electronics - all this is supplied to Volzhsky by domestic manufacturers. But now import substitution has begun in the most sensitive segment of the main components.
